Pdvsa sells fuel to Iran despite international sanctions
"It is no surprise at all”, traders told Reuters. Major oil companies have halted business with Tehran, which depends on fuel imports because it lacks refining capacity. Energy State-run oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa) is delivering two shipments of fuel to Iran, sources of the oil sector said. Therefore, the Venezuelan firm is supplying fuel to the Islamic Republic despite the international sanctions led by the United States.
The shipments will be delivered in February, traders told Reuters.
"It is no surprise at all," one trader said.
"Countries such as Venezuela or China do not care much about sanctions," the source said.
