Does anyone know anything about this? I got caught out by him in a commodity fund called Kijani a few years ago. I think they cleaned people out for over $200m.

Kijani Commodity Fund: positive returns for investors in 49 of the 51 months it was trading, seized by Cayman authorities for an inability to verify its assets in June 2015. Price WaterhouseCooper found that the fund's only asset was a commercial loan to its primary company, Kijani Resources. Kijani had more than $130 million in managed assets when Cayman Island oversight seized them.

I was also emailed to say they bought a yacht called Ratio and a plane, presumably bought out of the money loaned. www.superyachttimes.com/yachts/alma-36m

not sure if I remember this right: The Kijani part of the group is being liquidated by Simon Conway and David Walker, of PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Cayman Islands. I believe the first point of contact is Ben Henshilwood, who can be reached by email at ben.henshilwood@ky.pwc.com or by telephone at +1 (345) 914-8743. But this could be old news. Doubt that there is anything to get, you might want to explore a legal claim against the people who introduced you to, and recommended, Kijani, e.g. your investment advisor and the “accountant”.

Yes, you are completely right about Kijani and liquidators. I've explored claiming against introducers and sadly no possibility there.
